Mr SPEAKERI have to announce that, accompanied by members, I attended upon His Excellency the Governor-General with the Address agreed to by the House in reply to the speech at the opening of this Parliament. His Excellency was pleased to make the following reply:
MR SPEAKER AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES:
I receive with much pleasure the Address which has been adopted by the House of Representatives in reply to my speech at the Opening of the First Session of the Forty-Ninth Parliament of New Zealand. I thank you for your assurance that the matters referred to in my speech will receive your careful consideration.
