This Bill, which amends the International Finance Agreements Act 1961, provides for New Zealand to become a member of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. The Agency is one of the 5 agencies that make up the World Bank group, and its core mission is to enhance the flow of capital and technology to developing countries for productive purposes by providing investment insurance for member countries against both sovereign and political risk.
