Protected Objects Amendment Bill

The Bill's intent is to enhance the protection of the New Zealand cultural heritage and to enable New Zealand's participation in two international conventions - UNESCO and UNIDROIT -prohibiting the export of certain types of cultural objects. )The Bill’s intent is to enhance the protection of the New Zealand cultural heritage and to enable New Zealand’s participation in two international conventions - UNESCO and UNIDROIT -prohibiting the export of certain types of cultural objects. It amends the Title of the Antiquities Act 1975 so that it will be titled the Protected Objects Act.
