I move, That urgency be accorded the introduction and first reading of the Taxation (Business Tax Measures) Bill, the Gangs and Organised Crime Bill, the Criminal Investigations (Bodily Samples) Amendment Bill, and the Sentencing (Offender Levy) Amendment Bill. These bills are all part of the Government’s 100-day programme. These matters were of prominence for members of this Government during the election campaign, so it is a matter of ensuring that we honour the commitments made to New Zealanders that these bills would be introduced and sent to select committees within the first 100-day period. I appreciate that this means that some parties will not have the 3 days that are normally available to them to scrutinise the bills.

Three minutes would be nice.

Well, we will do something about that. A number of the bills have been made available to spokespeople so that they can peruse what is in them. I think the measures that are in the bills have most certainly been very well signalled.
