Yesterday I told the House that I had received advice that increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour might result in the loss of up to 17,000 jobs. This figure came from the 2007 minimum wage review, and the most up-to-date figure from the 2008 minimum wage review is, in fact, up to 12,200 jobs.
