Bills in charge of
- Animal Welfare (Treatment of Animals) Amendment Bill (Member's bill)
As of January 2010, this website is no longer being kept uptodate. It contains NZ Parliament debates from November 2005 to December 2009. We may resurrect the site in 2011 for the General Election.
TheyWorkForYou.co.nz is volunteer run, and has been in operation since November 2006. We developed it entirely with free and open source software, as a hint to the public sector that they should be adopting and promoting free and open source software themselves (despite what foreign corporations masquerading as a NZ ICT industry may say to the contrary).
If this MP has contributed more than once to a debate, only one speech is shown.
Interjection: "I seek leave to table a Ministry of Transport document dated 10 December 2008, which shows that Transmission Gully will increase congestion, will reduce rail patronage by 13 percent, and could take substantially longer to open than the coastal route."
Speech expand: "It is that time again when we all look back on the year that has passed and make wishes and predictions for the year ahead. I will spend a few minutes sharing my New Year wishes. ..."
Speech expand: "Not surprisingly the Local Government (Auckland Law Reform) Bill is a terrible bill. It is a Machiavellian bill that strips away layers of democracy in Auckland and siphons off most of the key functions of the Auckland Council into council-owned companies, ..."
Question: "When the third Auckland Council bill is passed, and almost all of the functions of the Auckland Council are siphoned off into Crown-owned companies that will be stacked with his political appointees, what will there be left for Auckland councillors to do?"
Question: "Is he aware that animal welfare is an increasingly important consideration for consumers around the world? Why on earth would the Government support a new form of factory farming that will alienate many of our overseas consumers, including those who are attracted to New Zealand dairy products because they are promoted as being free-range and grass-fed?"
