As of January 2010, this website is no longer being kept uptodate. It contains NZ Parliament debates from November 2005 to December 2009. We may resurrect the site in 2011 for the General Election.

TheyWorkForYou.co.nz is volunteer run, and has been in operation since November 2006. We developed it entirely with free and open source software, as a hint to the public sector that they should be adopting and promoting free and open source software themselves (despite what foreign corporations masquerading as a NZ ICT industry may say to the contrary).

Adjournment - Sittings of the House (16 Dec 2009)

Education (Polytechnics) Amendment Bill - Third Reading (16 Dec 2009)

Speech expand: "I regret that the member who has just resumed his seat, Allan Peachey, did not take his full time, because in my opinion that member, of all the National members—in fact of all the people on that side of the House—has the best grasp of the Education (Polyt ..."

Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Compensation Amendment Bill—Holiday Pay (16 Dec 2009)

Interjection: "I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. I am sorry; I half expected one of my colleagues to take the point of order. There was a direct question about the use of holiday pay for accident compensation, and the response related to the delegated authority for injury prevention. There was no link between the question and the answer."

Education, National Standards—Endorsement (15 Dec 2009)

Intervention: "I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. It was a very direct question on the part of Allan Peachey. It asked “What reports has she received …”. A newspaper editorial is not a report to a Minister."

Education, National Standards—Minister’s Approach (15 Dec 2009)

Question: "Is the Minister seriously suggesting to this House that she will sack a board of trustees that decides to have a trial within a region of the national standards?"
