I raise a point of order, Mr Speaker. I am sorry to interrupt the proceedings of the House, and I offer my apologies to Mr English, but I just wanted to draw the attention of the House to the fact that I received an email this afternoon that one of our security guards has passed away after 21 years of service—Mr Tumu Pūtaura. I just want to make sure that this House will have the opportunity to properly acknowledge that fact. The man has provided service to us for 21 years, and I think that it would be deeply offensive if we just continued with our usual carryings-on without acknowledging that.

I thank the member. That is a matter for the House to decide, Mr Tanczos, but I thank the member for drawing it to the House’s attention.

Perhaps it might be appropriate for you to refer to Madam Speaker the potential for the House to mark that tomorrow at the start of the House in the usual way that we do.
