I raise a point of order, Madam Speaker. The Prime Minister has said that the proper approach to the issue of Mr Peters and the $100,000 donation is through you, on the matter of members’ pecuniary interests. Mr Copeland and I have made complaints to you. I was wondering, as there is a great deal of interest in this matter, whether you could enlighten the House as to the process that you are following and the timetable as to when we might hear the outcome. Thank you.
Thank you, Mr Hide. I refer you to Speaker’s ruling 170/4, for your information and maybe for the information of others in the House: “Once a matter of privilege has been raised with the Speaker it is out of order to refer to it in debate in the House.” I am aware that you have asked a question. I am following due process.
