What progress has been made on the review of adventure tourism?

Today I have released the terms of reference for the review. A governance group has been formed to ensure that industry is closely engaged in the review. I expect that the review will be completed by March 2010.

The industry has been very positive and is already contributing to the review. The director of white-water rafting company Ultimate Descents, Tim Marshall, says: “I see this as a good thing, to make sure we are all up to standard,”. The industry understands that ensuring the highest safety standards across the whole sector is critical to protecting New Zealand’s international reputation.
