What trends are there in New Zealand’s international education industry?

The number of international students enrolled to study in New Zealand is continuing to increase. The latest enrolment figures show a nearly 5 percent increase in numbers for the first 8 months of this year. This increase comes on top of an increase of 6 percent for 2009. International education contributes at least $2.1 billion to our economy and supports about 32,000 jobs, so it is very pleasing to see the sector continuing to grow despite strong competition from Australia and other countries.
